Last weekend, my British boyfriend and I embarked on a delightful day trip to the Padori Sea Cave in Taean. Our journey began at the Seoul Central City Terminal, where we caught a bus to Taean Bus Terminal.
Here is the time table for the bus: 14 times a day.
The ride was smooth and took around two hours. We spent the time chatting and enjoying the morning tranquility, appreciating the absence of traffic.
Upon arriving at the Taean Bus Terminal, we faced the challenge of navigating the local bus system to reach Padori Beach. The bus routes seemed overly complicated, and we were concerned about the potential cost of taking a taxi. Fortunately, the information desk staff was incredibly helpful, providing us with clear directions. While having a car would have been convenient, the bus system is well-organized, and asking for assistance is highly recommended.
The bus ride to Padori Beach took approximately 40 minutes. We followed a map to the famous sea cave, but in reality, simply following the flow of people proved to be the best strategy. Many visitors had the same destination in mind, so it was easy to find our way.
The journey to the sea cave took us across a beautiful sandy beach with breathtaking scenery. We couldn't resist stopping frequently to take photos and admire the views. The path was somewhat rugged, so wearing comfortable shoes or sneakers is advisable.
we finally get here!
Upon reaching the sea cave, we discovered numerous photo spots. We were glad to have brought a tripod, which allowed us to capture many memorable shots together. The sea cave was as stunning as we had imagined, and the unique rock formations against the backdrop of the sea were truly mesmerizing.
To give you a tip for taking good pictures, the time is between 4 and 6 o'clock, and because of the backlight coming from the sea, back or side pictures come out very well!
Although we opted for a day trip, we noticed many accommodation options along the way, making it a viable option for those who wish to extend their stay. However, even as a day trip, it was highly enjoyable and convenient.
I highly recommend Padori Sea Cave as a travel destination close to Seoul. The beauty of the sea cave is captivating, and the journey itself, filled with serene and picturesque views, makes for a refreshing escape. Spending the day with my boyfriend, soaking in the natural beauty, and taking countless photos was a wonderfully rejuvenating experience.
Whether you're looking for a quick day trip or a short getaway, Padori Sea Cave in Taean is an excellent choice. Its proximity to Seoul and the enchanting scenery will leave you enchanted and relaxed.

Before getting on the bus, I searched for a pasta and pizza place nearby and found it to be really delicious and satisfying. Plus, the price is really reasonable and the owner is so friendly, so I highly recommend it. Even though there were 30 minutes left until the bus left, the food came out in less than 10 minutes. I want to go again next time.
