Seoul is a city that effortlessly blends the old with the new, and there's no better place to witness this harmony than Gyeongbokgung Palace. During my recent trip to Seoul with my boyfriend, we had the pleasure of exploring this magnificent palace, and it quickly became one of the highlights of our visit

We found that arriving early in the morning allowed us to avoid the larger crowds and enjoy a more peaceful experience.

The Beauty of Gyeongbokgung Palace
Gyeongbokgung Palace is not just a historical site; it’s a place where you can immerse yourself in the beauty and tranquility of traditional Korean architecture and gardens. As we strolled through the expansive grounds, we were captivated by the intricate details of the buildings and the serene beauty of the gardens. There are countless spots perfect for taking beautiful photos, especially around the picturesque Gyeonghoeru Pavilion and the Hyangwonjeong Pond.
One of the most memorable moments was witnessing the changing of the guard ceremony, which takes place three times a day (10:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 3:00 PM). The ceremony is a colorful and vibrant display of traditional Korean culture, and it's a must-see when visiting the palace.

Historical Significance
Gyeongbokgung Palace is one of Seoul's most important historical landmarks. Built in 1395, it served as the main royal palace of the Joseon Dynasty. Walking through the gates and courtyards, you can almost feel the weight of history surrounding you. The palace has been meticulously restored to its former glory, and it stands as a testament to Korea's rich cultural heritage. For anyone interested in history, Gyeongbokgung offers a fascinating glimpse into Korea's past.

And in June, I went to the night opening of Gyeongbokgung Palace with my boyfriend, and it was really cool. It is usually open at night between May and June, and although there are too many people, it is worth going at least once.

Nearby Attractions and Amenities
The area around Gyeongbokgung Palace is well-equipped for tourists. There are numerous restaurants and cafes where you can enjoy a meal or a cup of coffee after your visit. We particularly enjoyed sampling some traditional Korean dishes at a nearby restaurant. Additionally, the palace is close to several other major attractions, including Bukchon Hanok Village, Insadong, and the National Palace Museum of Korea. Tourist information centers are conveniently located around the area, providing maps and helpful tips to ensure you make the most of your visit.

Visiting Gyeongbokgung Palace was an unforgettable experience for us. It's a place where you can walk hand-in-hand through history, take in stunning views, and capture beautiful memories. Whether you're a history buff, a photography enthusiast, or just looking for a peaceful place to spend an afternoon, Gyeongbokgung Palace is a must-visit destination in Seoul. So, when you find yourself in this vibrant city, be sure to add Gyeongbokgung to your itinerary. You won't regret it.
